Makes 6 large cookies
OAT FLOUR!

- Two great benefits of oat flour: Packed with fiber and has been proven to lower cholesterol!
- You can find oat flour at your local grocery store but you can easily make it at home
- To make out flour: Add oats to your blender or food processor and pulse into a smooth consistency of flour—that’s it!
Ingredients
- ½ cup oat flour
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup cacao powder
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 flax egg (use flaxseed meal)
- ½ brown sugar (or coconut sugar for natural form of sweetener)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup valentine’s day themed M&M’s or sprinkles (if you don’t want to keep vegan) OR dairy free chocolate chips. The add in options are endless-make it your own!
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- Heart shape cookie cutter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- First assemble your flax egg by mixing 1 tbsp of flaxseed meal and 3 tbsp of water in a bowl. Let sit for 5-7 minutes to thicken up
- Begin to add your other ingredients to a large mixing bowl
- Combine oat flour, oats, cacao powder, oil, brown or coconut sugar, vanilla extract, baking soda and powder, cinnamon, salt and mix together until smooth
- Add in your flax egg and candy of choice and/or sprinkles and mix again
- Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your heart shape cookie cutter on the sheet
- Take ¼ cup of the cookie dough and spoon it inside the cookie cutter
- Pack and form evenly to make a heart shape and carefully remove the cookie cutter
- Repeat the process until you have 6 cookies
- Place cookies in the oven for 15 minutes
Note: If your batter is not thick enough add more oat flour. Cookies will pack easily when the dough is on the thicker side!
