Sloppy Turkey

Makes 4 sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • ½ diced onion (chopped)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • ½ bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 14 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ lime juice
  • 1 tsp coconut sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 sprigs parsley

Instructions

  • Add olive oil to a pot or skillet and turn on high heat on stovetop
  • Add in onion and cook until caramelized
  • Next add in the bell pepper, and minced garlic
  • Add the ground turkey to the veggies and cook for 5 minutes
  • Add in diced tomatoes, vinegar, lime juice, worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, hot sauce, mustard, parsley, and coconut sugar and stir well
  • Add in your spices and let simmer for 20 minutes
  • Serve on toasted hamburger buns!

Serve with French fries or coleslaw!
